This was supposed to go up Saturday afternoon, but I’m having computer issues:

Gotta love that prevent defense – the No. 1 dream-killer in all of football.

There are a lot of reasons – offensive inadequacy in the second half, John Bender’s personal foul, the defense giving up big plays, Luke Lippincott’s fumble – why Nevada didn’t beat Northwestern on Saturday, a game the Wolf Pack led with less than two minutes left, but most of it comes down to the abomination of a defense that teams feature in the closing minutes of a game.

Loose coverage. Check.

No quarterback contain. Check.

Final second coronary for fans. You bet’ya.

The Wildcats sliced through the Wolf Pack’s defense for 80 yards in less than a minute.

It all adds up to a bad, horrible, painful loss for the Wolf Pack. Sure Nevada played pretty well in losing 36-31 against Northwestern, but the Wolf Pack should have won.

The defense played well at times, but gave up big plas

Where sophomore quarterback Nick Graziano is concerned, the hype makes sense now. Kid has a serious arm. Nevada hasn’t been able to stretch defenses during Ault’s recent tenure, but the deep ball has returned to the Wolf Pack’s repertoire.

Beating a Big Ten team on the road would have restored a lot of confidence after the Nebraska  fiasco.

The Wolf Pack’s prospects for WAC play look promising because it appears as if “Air Graz” is going to be a potent compliment to a pretty good running game, but there’s no way this game doesn’t hurt in a serious way come December.
